Meetings Mean Business Canada is pleased to welcome back the panelists from our original Living Room Leadership Chat to discuss our industry's rally for recovery.
These speakers, along with many others, have been hard at work advocating on your behalf. This live webcast will be an opportunity to hear an update on the progress made.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.
The following panelists will be joining us:
Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID)
Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) took place on April 14, 2020. GMID was created to be an international forum for advocacy, awareness and celebration for the meetings & events industry. Each year, event professionals from around the world come together to raise the collective voice of our community.
In 2020, GMID looked very different.
Due to the advice from WHO, Health Canada and governments around the world, we did not encourage live events for GMID.
But we did meet. We did so virtually.
GMID MMBC Panel Discussion
GMID in numbers
Short lead time ... we had 3 weeks to organize
Over 15,000 registered
173 countries joined us from around the globe
We collected information through-out the virtual event using live polling software Slido - over half of the respondents were Meeting and Event Planners.
27% of the over 6,000 respondents said their first confirmed live in-person event was set for September and only 8% said it was not until 2021
79% said that less than 25% of their planned live in-person events were going 100% virtual/online
72% of over 7,000 respondents predict that going forward there will be the most demand for hybrid events – both live in-person and virtual/online
#1 thing that people want to do when this is all over is TRAVEL!
Save the Date
Mark your calendars - GMID celebrations are set for April 8 in 2021.
