GMID 2020

Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) -

April 14, 2020

On April 4th 2019, 275 GMID events spanning 44 countries took place, a significant increase in the number of events that were held in 2018.

Your annual participation in Global Meetings Industry Day is crucial to spreading our industry’s value story. Together we will ensure that the media, elected officials and the general public understand how meetings foster strong relationships, drive positive outcomes and support vibrant communities. Hosting an event is also a great way to connect with other meetings professionals in your area and reflect on all the hard work done to advance our industry.

Because, Meetings Mean Business

The recently launched Global Economic Impact Study validated the importance of Business Events worldwide.  The study sites that business events in 2017 generated more than $1 Trillion of direct spending, over 10 million in direct jobs and globally generated $621 Billion of direct GDP.

Here’s how you can help advocate for our industry and prepare for GMID 2020:

  • Organize an event to showcase the value of face-to-face meetings

  • Attend an event taking place in your community

  • Engage with local elected officials and business    leaders

  • Participate in the online conversation with              #GMID20
