Press Release: BEICC Launches 2016 Business Plan & Major Initiatives

Toronto, Ontario: On Tuesday December 15, 2016, The Business Events Industry Coalition of Canada (BEICC) held a press conference to announce the launch of their Business Plan and upcoming focus for 2016.

The mission of the BEICC is to help the Canadian Business Events Industry thrive. 2015 was a year of great progress building on the foundation of the pan industry organization set up in 2009. The BEICC continues to build on relationships with DMOs, Tourism & Convention Bureaus across the country, members of the academic community and government officials at all levels.

Highlights of the 2016 Business Plan include a broad communication and marketing strategy, the creation of a strategic Thought Leader Council and continued focus on industry partnerships. The Business Plan outlines our action items to promote our core strategic pillars through 2018 that will enhance our purpose to help the Canadian Business Events Industry thrive.

A major initiative announced at the December 15 press conference, is BEICC’s partnership with Ryerson University, under the direction of acclaimed Hospitality Research Professor Richard Wade, to launch the Canadian Economic Impact Study 4.0. Research methodology will remain the same as used in previous studies but with greater focus on regional data. The data collected in CEIS 4.0 will further validate opportunities at a regional and municipal level and thereby provide important economic data regarding contribution to GDP.

We encourage all our industry partners to participate in the study surveys that will be sent out in 2016 to ensure a viable sample size and an accurate picture of the value of Business Events across Canada. The BEICC is here to tell the story of our industry and advocate on its behalf..

The BEICC will be partnering with Business Events Toronto to host a celebration dinner event on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 during Canada Meet Week! We will come together to share information, celebrate our industry and business partnerships. Save the date and watch for more information early in the New Year.
